Time and time again I get asked by clients where I get my products from. Whilst there are outlets/stores that will sell ONLY to professional makeup artists (something I've never understood) there are others, like CRC, who are happy to supply pro and layman alike.  And though I source cosmetics from a number of outlets, my main and often first port of call is CRC, or Camera Ready Cosmetics, a US company founded and run by Makeup Artist Mary Erickson (a really lovely lady BTW)...

 

So why CRC?  Well, as I said before, they sell professional grade cosmetics to both pros and the general public.  We're talking about professional grade HD products used by makeup artists in their everyday work behind the camera, on set or out in the field.  From brushes to eyeshadows, lashes to sponges - they've got it all...

 

Pros are offered a discounted account, but even without this you're still looking at one of the cheapest online stores around (and God knows I've tried plenty).  This is despite the fact they're in the US, which often means exorbitant shipping costs to Australia - not so at CRC.  I've found their shipping and handling costs CHEAPER than most Australian sites! They offer combined P&H and you can choose standard or express delivery, so you can have your products within a few days if required...

 

They stock a HUGE range of professional products (not found in retail outlets), which is often lacking even in other online stores.  And if you're anything like me you don't want to spend two hours rummaging through ten different sites to do your shopping...

 

 

They have all the latest "must have" products and are quick to update their site with newly released items, which are all personally tried and tested by Mary to make sure they're up to professional standards.  The other thing is they have a very high turnover rate, which means products don't sit on the shelves too long (in fact Mary guarantees her products' freshness - no product over 60 days old is allowed to be sold)...

 

 

They stock fantastic professional makeup kits, which I've found to be the best value/quality kits out there by far.  You can choose from basic through to deluxe, depending on your budget.  I'd sincerely recommend these to any budding makeup artist or anyone interested in getting a comprehensive makeup kit for themselves...

 

They offer great customer service, are quick to respond to any question, no matter how small or bizarre (yes, I've asked a few myself)...

 

Finally, and this is my favourite bit, they will often have samples available for a couple of bucks so that you can try products before committing to buy a full-sized item.  Great for trying out new products or if you're trying to find your shade/colour...

 

Oh, and all their products are animal cruelty free...
